Scallastle Farm is a small 450 acre farm on The Island of Mull which was purchased by The Knight Family in 2013. Andy and Naomi along with their three children have worked hard, on a part time basis, to build the farm back up to an operational farming business. The family started off by purchasing five young Luing heifer calves from the nearby Island of Luing and have now built up a thirty strong herd.

Following many conversations and meetings with local hotelier, Neal Goldsmith in 2016, the decision was made to buy some pigs after identifying a gap in the market.  Scallastle Farm currently has four breeding sows and several age groups of pigs, generally stocking 50 pigs over four age classes in a high welfare environment. They breed both native and hybrid pigs, thus ensuring that whatever cut of pork you require, they have the right breed for the best taste! The aspiration this year is to construct a purpose built premises which will more than double stock numbers while maintaining the generous space and standards the animals currently enjoy. The main ethos of the business is to ensure the pig has a fulfilled and happy life, living both inside and out, depending on the weather.

Our aim is to supply directly to end users throughout Mull, Argyll and beyond!
